In the year that the weekly newspaper Expresso completes half a century, Antarte celebrates 25 years.

As part of the celebrations of Expresso's 50th anniversary, both brands have established a unique partnership and Antarte has created a signature piece: the bench 'Expresso com Antarte'.

The bench 'Expresso with Antarte' intends to be a meeting and reading place.

Designed by Antarte Design Center, after several creative meetings between the Antarte team, led by CEO Mário Rocha and Mónica Balsemão, Marketing Director of Imprensa Group, the development of the project took 180 hours.

The materials for the production of the bench were thought to be detailed and four raw materials were used. The seat is made of wood from a sustainable forest. For the back, where the pages of the Expresso are printed, the choice fell on phenolic panels. The stool also has a tree, Antarte's evergreen symbol, made in marine plywood and lacquered with specific products to provide durability in open-air exposure. For the stool feet, stainless steel was used.

Altogether, the production of each bench has an estimated duration of 28h30 between all stages. The cost of each bench exceeds 4,800 Euros.

The produced copies will be placed in the headquarters of Expresso, SIC (Porto), and Antarte and in the central squares of the 18 district capitals of Portugal.
